Department of Veterinary Physiology was established with the inception of “Krantisinh Nana Patil College of Veterinary Science, Shirval” during year 1988-89. Apart from attaining an excellence in the undergraduate teaching programme the department has initinitiated its research in the area of trace mineral profile of soil, feed, fodder and blood of Livestock in western Maharashtra catering the needs of farmers for preparation of area specific mineral mixture (MLDB project-2008 to 2012). It has also initiated the research on molecular level.

Department is presently progressing in the area of molecular, biochemical and physiological studies. Along with the mandate of Teaching, Research & Extension work. The post graduate programme (PG & PhD) in the Department of Veterinary Physiology was initiated from year 2013 & 17 respectively.
